Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
— 2 Corinthians 10:5
King James Version of the Bible

“Reflections From Infinite Mind”
The Gift of Life … p 54

It is as though, seated on a swing of life’s uncertainty, thoughts — oh blessed thoughts — carry us into the airy light of the midday sun, then, with foreboding certainty, new thoughts thrust us back into the dark recesses of the mind. Such are the workings of the mind when left unattended.

Having been given the gift of life, it is ours alone to do with as we will. We need but reflect on our own condition to know that harmony of mind, body and soul is not to be found by looking outside of ourself. Busying ourself with ephemeral worldly matters — those that veil truth — is but the pursuit of a fool’s paradise. Divine grace can only be found by directing our thoughts inward, mindful of God’s presence and forever giving thanks for His abiding goodness and love.

We choose whether our thoughts and our conduct carry us into the light of God’s Divine Mind, or whether they take us into the despair of unending darkness. We know untold happiness and joy in the presence of God, and we are made whole.
