The Unease That Haunts Us...

...CANNOT BE APPEASED IN MATERIALISM.  Materialism--that of satisfying our own presumed physical needs--undermines our soul, the very essence of our being.

Our lifetime job, no less our responsibility, is to nurture the soul that we may harmonize mind, body, and soul.

Though seldom acted upon, the care of the soul is essential to our well-being.  Its neglect is the root cause of a lifetime of unhappiness, of not knowing who we are or why we are here.

Quite simply, an unenlightened soul means a life unfulfilled.

"I remember more than once purchasing clothes that were too expensive. They were supposed to say 'I fit in.' Once home, the bags were left in the bottom of the closet, unopened. With my 'high' of shopping, over...the feeling of unworthiness, back. Therefore: The unease that haunts us..."    blw

MY COUSIN'S PRAYER

Lord, let me see Your oceans again
Just once more before I die,
Let me gaze at Your mystical waters again,
Where their majesty meets Your blue sky.

It's the place where I'm truly at peace with myself,
Your true wonders the sea and the sky.
When I'm there my heart is at rest, my mind seems at peace,
Althought I have no reasons why.

Lord, let me see Your sunset once more,
Where the sun sinks into the sea,
Lord let me be there with Your sea and Your sky,
Just once more before I die.

And when You decide You want me with You,
Let my soul ride away with the tide,
And I'll be content, my soul with Your sea,
And my heart with You in the sky.

Labels...

The common language of the world, writes Mike George, is the LANGUAGE OF LABELS. (I am a Teacher; I am an Immigrant; I am Female; I am Homeless; I am Retired;  I am Brown; I am Atheist; I am Divorced; I am …. )

Are you what you do? Are you defined by your name? Are you defined by what you may call your faith?

We are not our nationality, our gender, our race, or our religion. But we are taught to think we are…Some of us will die for their label, and some will even kill for their label. When you drop all these false identities you will begin to regain an awareness of your true self.

So who are you? Awareness? Consciousness? Soul? Spirit? Or are these just more labels?

Can you go beyond all the labels and just be your self? Self. Individual. Aware. Conscious. Free. Self-aware self. No one teaches us the value of getting to know the self.

To know oneself is to be aware of one’s true identity (spirit) true nature (peace), and true purpose (creating, giving, and receiving).

Ask the question who and what am I, and why am I here? Then give yourself the gift of patience, listen to our intuition again, and all will become clear.

Remember, how you see yourself completely influences how you see the world, what you think about the world, and therefore what you give to the world.

"BY EXPANDING MY HORIZONS," writes Louise Hay, "I EASILY DISSOLVE LIMITATIONS."

Life really is free and easy...

It is MY thinking that is difficult, limited..., or not good enough.  If I OPEN MYSELF to UNLEARNING some of my limited-thinking-patterns and learning something NEW, then I can GROW and CHANGE

Or do I already know-it-all?  The trouble with knowing it all is that I dont't get-to-grow, and nothing NEW can come in.  Do I really accept that there's a Power and an Intelligence greater than I am?   Or do I think I'm the-whole-thing?

If I think I'm it, then of course (I limit myself).  If I realize that there's a Power and an Intelligence in this Universe far greater and brighter than I am, and which is on-my-side, then I can move into that mental space where LIFE CAN OPERATE FREELY AND EASILY.
