And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean. — St. Mark 1:40-41
King James Version of the Bible

from Reaching For The Light
Becoming You … p. 162

Are you really you?
Think about it.
Are you all things
To all people?
Are you trying to prove
Yourself to another;
To all others?
Can you accept
The love of another?
Are you happy?
Think about it.
Do such thoughts
Disturb the mind?
Is your conscience stirred?
Are you really you?
Is that which you reveal
And others see
But a mask
Of your true inner Being?
Should you, for peace
Of mind alone
Humble yourself, look within
And ask God
To show you the Way?
You may surprise yourself
To find that all this time
You have not been you,
The real you:
And you will be free.
