Spiritual Insight ...

Even though life may not be all we could hope for, we can change it. We begin by being honest with ourself, by facing up to that which bedevils our thoughts and darkens the soul. Truth ever offers succour in times of distress. No less so does truth provide insight into our spiritual self, the nurture of which frees us of fantasies of the mind while at once revealing the superficiality of all things worldly.

“Even though life may not be all we could hope for, we can change it.

I don’t remember ever having a “life plan”.  Looking back it feels like I lived in a pinball machine bouncing life up into happiness, down into sadness, sideways into neutral-numbing, self-destruction.  Fifteen years ago, in a split second, my life’s direction changed forever! blw

Meg's email says,
"Garry's reflection is beautiful. And I love the pinball analogy. When I was growing up, I bought into the "All American Dream" of a husband, kids, and a house with a white picket fence. Oh, how our dreams change. And even the white picket fence--well, what would that have been good for? Doesn't even keep the bunnies from eating your garden!"

Cathy's email says,
"Amen to this! With the grace of God, our lives were changed! It is such a great ride when God is in the driver's seat!"
