The night of disquiet
That troubles the soul
Is but illusion of mind,
Our bondage but
Fetters of myth.
“Be free of these demons,”
Cries a voice that rings true,
For it speaks from the
Depths of our Being.
Thrice we are told
“Go within, Go within;
Surrender to God’s
Sovereign Power.”
The O so long night,
The illusory mind
But fantasies
Wrest from within
Awakened at last,
Veils stripped from the soul
“Know Thyself,” all along,
Was His goal.
